Children will surely be surprised to see the photographs of the earlier computers. Hence they weight very less, small in size and had a long batter life. The weight was only between 0.8 to 2 Kg. Keeping in mind the weight and size these laptops were built with only 13” size screen, contained very few USB ports and had to be docked on docking station or external media drives had to be used when needed. These notebooks are aimed at normal and simple office operations including mails and office suites and can run on Windows, Linux or Mac OS operating systems.

Then we have the normal standard laptops that have all the office applications besides Internet applications too. These laptops are robust and strong, light in weight but sturdy in performance besides being best suited for internet applications.   If one has to always be using emails, browsing internet and using web based applications , these are the best suited machines for such use. More and more companies are using these laptops as client computers to hook up on cloud computing. They run efficiently on both Linux as well as Windows XP and Windows 7 Editions of operating systems.

Besides these laptops yet another model that is available today is the Tablet laptops. Tablet laptops are nothing but small flat pads that have a touch screen which can be operated using stylus, digital pen or with finger touch operating virtual keyboard.The latest model that is ruling in the market is the Apple’s iPad tablet computer.

With more and more business, educational, medical, financial and all other services getting to be e models, we find that to conduct our day-to-day lives we are dependant heavily on laptops and Internet. Therefore the laptops are also being built in new versions to suit different purposes.

While we have the standard business laptops, we have high-end studio or high performance laptops for multi media and graphic usage.
